Glowing Skin Starts With A Good Diet
I was born and raised in the Caribbean. So most of our meals were prepared on a daily basis. Local farmers grew the food I ate as a child. The food was succulent, fresh, and earthy. Hmmm, goodness, I missed it!
I took good food for granted. I had no idea what "organic" meant, and I laughed at the prospect of discovering in the United States that organic food was more expensive than non-organic food. "You've got to be kidding me!" I thought. God created nature and all of its goodness for us to enjoy a nutritious meal. Humanity is now making it difficult for me to consume? "It was hard to swallow!"
The good news is that I did not let this deter me from feeding my soul and body with what God had purely created. I was fortunate to discover a few local farmers in my area, as well as an organic supermarket like While Foods at the time. I know! I've also heard from friends and colleagues that organic food may not be truly organic. You may be right believing so, but I made a conscious decision to take a chance on organic labels, as I researched intensively on both industries non-organic and organic. I can claim that USFDA takes their job very important ensuring the so-claimed organic farmers follow their guidelines.
I rarely eat out since most restaurants and private parties do not serve organic food. I have been perceived picky by many. Did I upset anyone by sticking to organic food? Oh, yeah! Do I care? Not really!
At the end of the day, my decisions only have an impact on me. My health, body, and medical bills would suffer as a result. Having said that, my kids have never seen a can of food on my shelves. From the time they were born to the present. I made their baby food and kept it in the fridge for two days at a time. I am confident that my children did not develop allergies as a result of this. I did not feed them with processed food laced with pesticides, preservatives, and hormones, which I believe contribute significantly to America's health crisis.
I keep limited frozen food in my freezer, including meat. I think God that I love to cook! So I cook my meals ninety eight percent of the time. I would prefer to go to bed at 12:00 AM or wake up as early as 5:00 AM to cook my meals for the next day. I simply don't want to contribute to any prone medical conditions.
Now, what is the connection between unhealthy food and healthy skin? Although, it is a challenge to prevent this health crisis from already existing outside pollutants and chemicals, what you eat can make a bigger impact.

Energy Boost
Hello friends,
For many of us, who might be waking up to an abundance of snow, lately, it may be difficult for many of us to find motivation to exercise and prepare a nutritious meal.
Science show Wintertime brings lower temperatures, less sunlight, and frequently depressed moods. People often experience increased fatigue and decreased motivation throughout the winter, which can have a detrimental effect on productivity.
To boost my energy in the winter time, I usually take two spoons of organic or raw honey with one spoon of crushed ginger root. I know, many of you may not tolerate the crushed ginger root as it can be spicy. If so, make a cup of tea out of the one spoon of crushed ginger root. Add one or two spoons of honey, preferably the organic honey so you can avoid consuming any pesticides that might be applied/sprayed on the plants that honeybees visit.
Honey (especially Raw) benefits inhas 8 benefits for your body:
A good source of Antioxidants.
Provides 9 vitamins and minerals as nutrition.
Can serve as an antibacterial and antifungal agent.
Can heal wounds.
Can boost immunity.
Boosts Digestion and gut health.
Soothes and heals Sore throat.
Activate brain cells.
Ginger, on the other end, is full of antioxidants that help you guard against stress and damages to your body’s DNA…Yup, that’s right. Scientists approves this!
Ginger also supports healthy aging and helps your body fight chronic conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, and lung disorders.
By taking ginger and raw honey together, they boost your immune system ten times more than if you were taking one of them by itself. Your energy level rises as your immune system gets stronger. Thus, you become more productive and motivated to do things.

Healthy Guts = Radiant Skin
Talking about bowel movement can be a very uncomfortable subject for most of us. However, it is very important to know and realize irregular bowel movements or constipation can lead to many diseases, including those affecting our skin. When our bodies are unable to properly eliminate waste and toxins, it can manifest in various ways on our skin, such as acne, eczema, dullness, or irritation. Maintaining a healthy digestive system is crucial for overall well-being, including the health of our skin. At Aneth, we believe that what we put inside our bodies is just as important as what we put on our skin. Remember, good skin health starts from within.
I found that incorpratng beets in my diet, by either drinking beet juice, eating them as a salad or just boiled, facilitates regular bowel movements due to their high fiber level. I personally eat them boiled like I would eat a boiled egg. I boil them, sprinkle some sea salt and lime on them, and eat them. Do not boil them too long (10 mns the most) so they can stay crispy, hmmm, yummy!
Try to eat or drink 2 beets twice a week, and you will see a difference. Always consult with your primary physician if you have underlying health issue, for which beets may not be a good fit for your health.
For those who cannot do beets for whatever the reason may be, may try Celery. Although, celery does not contain the same level of fiber as beets, but its high level of water, about 95 percent, can also help with smoothing your bowel movements.
Alongside with these two natural earthy goodies, train your guts to go to the bathroom first thing when you wake up. Don’t forget to still drink plenty of water!
Time For Cleansing!
We need to cleanse our digestive tracts of toxins to maintain healthy skin now that most of the holidays have past. Water consumption alone won't suffice. Once a year, under your primary physician’s consultation, perform a cleaning at the hospital or with a DIY enema.
If you are still uncomfortable with either of the above procedures, drink aloe vera juice/drink three times a week for a month or as recommended on the store purchased ones. If you never make aloe vera juice before, please buy it at your store.
Feel free to ask questions on how to make homemade aloe vera juice!
